First of all, hi! I haven't been on Devart much since I moved to China in 2009, but I think it's time to give my watchers an update on what's going on.

Right now I'm working on a magazine here in Shanghai, called Vantage Shanghai. The premise is "intelligent luxury lifestyle" or something to that effect. My vision is that it will be like a lovechild of Monocle, Wallpaper, Noblesse, National Geographic and The Robb Report, but in dual language and for a Chinese/Shanghai-expat market (for now).

First of all I'd just like to say sorry!! for not updating in so long and for falling behind on my commissions. I will get round to answering notes and messages as soon as possible this week.

I'm currently working on a magazine here in Shanghai, China. It's called the Expo VIP Magazine and is endorsed by the Shanghai Expo and distributed to all the top hotels in the city with a circulation of about 15,000/ month. As editor in chief I've been so busy lately I really haven't had any time or energy to work on art much, but I hope that can change soon as i have lots of ideas for pieces.

I've been thinking of buying a DSLR camera but have quite literally NO CLUE where to start looking. HELP!

For all you people who are in the creative industry or want to be, what's your ultimate goal? How long do you reckon it'll take for you to get there and what sorts of things do you think you need to do to get to where you want to be?

I've got some song by Lady Gaga stuck in my head, it's been there for about 2 days now. How is she so catchy??!!?

What do you think about this whole gaga take over of the music world?

I have to just comment... having a full time job is such a drag on creativity I do apologize for the lack of interesting updates but I have a long(ish) holiday coming up for Chinese New Year and I fully intend to rectify this situation.

My trusty ol' Samsung is going through a rough patch at the moment. I'm not sure what I did to it, but the speakers no longer work, and the phone randomly switches off.

Obviously I desperately need a new phone, but I want something nice. My budget is up to $450. Anyone got any ideas? I was leaning towards getting the Blackberry Bold 9000 but my colleague read some reviews that said the silver plastic wasn't great and gets scratched easily. hmmmmm. I will consider the iPhone but I don't really like the look of it that much.

So about 2 days ago I somehow managed to mess up my right hand and now it's all wrapped in gauze and not fully function. Thus there's going to be a little hiatus in updates.

However if anyone's got a good tut on 3D modeling esp for Lightwave then please let me know, because I can still use a mouse and would love to learn something new ^_^

Lots of fun and exciting things happening lately!

My exam results are out now, so I can officially say I have a 2.1 Honours degree from Cambridge University. I'm pretty happy with it overall, it's not very special, but it's a solid "ok" grade.

In other news, I got another Daily Deviation for Cicuta! Thanks `JunkbyJen! That's my 4th one now ^_^

As for the Kiriban, 3 people caught it in the end, and I will be getting round to doing them once I've completed a batch of commissions.


Next up, looking for a job and learning to read Chinese!
